While a super majority for action and legislation is to be desired, the filibuster is NOT part of the Constitution.

I think Mondale got the filibuster rule reduced from 2/3's to 60%.

I for one would like to see the threshold for overriding a filibuster raised back up, with the caveat that all filibusters be conducted in person by a single senator and not administratively by a cabal of the party not in power. Each senator in office should also be obliged to successfully perform one not shorter than eight hours unassisted by staff or protective undergarments once per term as a conditiin for standing for reelection.
