Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a longtime Donald Trump ally, will not be serving in the president-elect’s administration.

ADVERTISEMENT Giuliani has removed himself from consideration for any position in the new administration, the Trump transition team announced Friday. He was rumored to be in the mix to be secretary of State.

"This is not about me; it is about what is best for the country and the new administration," Giuliani said in a statement. "Before I joined the campaign I was very involved and fulfilled by my work with my law firm and consulting firm, and I will continue that work with even more

Rudy Giuliani could easily be a serial Special Prosecutor for Trump, et. al.

No shortage of targets.

Rudy just said, on Fox, that he had informed Trump he would not accept any Cabinet post other than Secretary if State.

Specifically said he would not have accepted Homeland Security.

YIKES! Our Rudy hit a wall for some reason.

Hopefully, this decision is about delays and complications of untangling his business interests, both here and abroad, and no mark against the man, forever America’s Mayor.

He was a God-send in so many ways and so respected for his muscular approach to national security and bringing in law and order for peace in NYC.

Our whole country learned from Giuliani.

This is a shame. But thats just the way the political cookie crumbles. Rudy is said to have refused Homeland Security.

Rudy did good for for Trump during the campaign, but I just didn’t see him as SoS material.

Too bad. America would have been well served by Rudy Guiliani in whatever capacity they could have agreed on. Just heard him on Cavuto; “no hard feelings.” That’s good. Maybe in the future...

More here....

(CNN) — Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani will not serve in Donald Trump’s incoming administration, the President-elect announced Friday.

The transition team released a statement Friday saying Giuliani removed himself from consideration for a position last month, a description contradicted by CNN reporting that the New Yorker was told he would not get the secretary of state position this week.

“Rudy Giuliani is an extraordinarily talented and patriotic American. I will always be appreciative of his 24/7 dedication to our campaign after I won the primaries and for his extremely wise counsel,” Trump said in the statement. “He is and continues to be a close personal friend, and as appropriate, I will call upon him for advice and can see an important place for him in the administration at a later date.”

Giuliani will stay on as a “Vice Chairman of the Presidential Transition Team,” the organization said.

I’m in agreement with others who suggest that Rudy (and Newt) will be insider advisers (Kitchen Cabinet if you will)

Rudy has said in the past that the ONLY job he wanted was SoS and reiterated that again today.

Well Rudy ‘you don’t always get what you want’ and especially if Trump wanted you for another job and you turned it down.

Trump said in the statement. “He is and continues to be a close personal friend, and as appropriate, I will call upon him for advice and can see an important place for him in the administration at a later date.”

Perhaps Giuliani will actually serve a far greater role in the Trump Administration than a cabinet secretary.

I agree. He would bring common sense to a vitally important function, that now focuses on strip searching grandma.

Well Rudy ‘you don’t always get what you want

But as Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones put it, you just might find you get what you need.

I like what Paladin2 said in post 2.

As a prosecutor - Rudy took down the mob in NYC. I can so see him taking down Clinton and the democrats in DC!

I agree. I saw Rudy as either in Homeland Security or Attorney General - never SOS.

Pretty simple to me: his wife said we can't afford the cut in pay.

I'm sure Newt's latest wife said the same thing. She likes running a tab at Tiffany's.

I'm guessing that is exactly what Rudy has in mind with this statement:

"From the vantage point of the private sector, I look forward to helping the President-elect in any way he deems necessary and appropriate."

He could start with ValJay, the Radical Muslim spy currently in charge of the CIA or Hillary.

Rudy should have been willing to serve where he would do the most, most serious and most permanent damage to leftists, socialists, and Islamists, not where he wanted.

How about FBI director? He will be serving the country not the administration.
