INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. An entire Indiana town has no police officers after every single one walked off the job. The officers blame the Bunker Hill Town Council for the situation.
We have had issues with the town board and there are some activities there where I felt like they were serving their own agenda, said former Bunker Hill Town Marshal Michael Thomison.
Thomison served as town marshal for four years until Monday night when he and four other officers handed over resignation letters to the council, telling them they have had enough.

How bad do they really need them?
Sort of like”Atlas Shrugged,” but with cops.
They are about to find out in the worst way.
Just wait till a member of the town council has a mugging or a home invasion. OOOOOOOOOO to be a fly on the wall. All I can say is Buddy I hope you have a conceal and carry in your state.
When an entire police force resigns, I tend to believe the town council are full of corrupt imbeciles. 2 or 3 officers sure, but not all.
Small town politicians like a lot of school board trustees can be the most incompetent and unqualified people anywhere. The only reason they are there is because they received 180 votes as opposed to 135 votes for the loser.
Yet they make multi million dollar decisions.
There are a lot of towns with no police force where I live. Same was true in Washington state, where I used to live. They just contracted with the county.
And if you have the right mix of citizens, you don’t really need them. Much...
They’re about to find out.
Why not just get some sharia police? /sarc
Everyone gives the Police lip service but none want to support them
AMEN AMEN AMEN
Dude...I love your handle!! “Trump-a-licious”
...after every single one walked off the job
probably means 2 people are involved.
Sounds like a 5 officer department.
Bunker Hill is right next to Grissom ARB, formally Bunker Hill AFB.
Right, there’s also a massive prison up there, it’s the “Miami Correctional Facility” and it’s a big one, I would think they would want the officers well equipped.
We have a city here called St Augustine Beach , and it is over half a mile wide, and less than 3 miles long. Why they have a police force of over 15 men and the latest in vehicles, equipment is beyond me. The police force was found corrupt a few years ago, and yet they just got rid of a few and then made the force bigger. Surely the city that size can have the county patrol, hell nothing much happens there anyway.
A lot of bureaucracy with many elected officials cashing on lke the Mayor, police chief etc. Of course the houses on the beach have multi million dollar homes so the tax money keeps coming in.
i guess some people have more money than sense to keep paying for a police force which is not needed and certainly that size .
Well judging from the picture of them they had 7 officers so it would seem this town had the need for all 7. Also the officer who spoke on camera complained that for 7 officers there was only 1 set of Kevlar for them to share. So it seems their job was dangerous and all 7 of them needed Kevlar on the job.
I don’t know as I was not one of those officers just taking this man’s word for it. Like I said this town is about to find out and probably not going to be good. If they have to rely on the County Sheriff to come out IE Deputy Fife then they will have a long wait on calls and they will not like that. This town mess up big time.
Probably best to have an elected Sheriff.
