The seizing of an unmanned US Navy drone by the Chinese is an “unpresidented [sic] act,” President-elect Donald Trump tweeted early Saturday.
The USNS Bowditch, which has a civilian crew, was about to retrieve the underwater device Thursday when it was snapped up by a Chinese warship in the South China Sea.
“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters – rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented [sic] act,” Trump wrote on Twitter. He’s since deleted the misspelled tweet.
The $150,000, 10-foot drone was part of a scientific mission collecting oceanographic data. It’s the first time in recent history China has taken a US naval vessel, a Navy spokesman said.
Bonnie Glaser, senior adviser for Asia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said the seizure of the drone occurred inside the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines and appeared to be a violation of international law.

Trump is incorrect. Early in the George W. Bush regime a US spyplane was damaged by a Chinese fighter in international airspace and the crew was forced to land in Chinese territory. The Chinese took the plane. What did Bush do? Nothing. No sanctions, no recall of our ambassador, no temper tantrum at the UN. It was more important for Bush to continue the important work of moving the US industrial infrastructure to China.
Will Trump be more than bluster or will he kowtow to China like George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. We will soon know if Trump is all words and no action.
For me, the bigger story is that Jug Ears apparently didn't do a damn thing about this. What a C n C!
Not to be picky (and I am a Yuge Trump fan), but he didn't mis-spell a word. He used the wrong word. He meant unprecedented.
like I said, it doesn’t bother me in the least. He’s a brilliant man who’s about to be president of the United States and change the world. He’s got a few things on his mind. the Press will pick on his every little mistake so we might as well get used to it. At the same time, we shouldnt treat him as an infallible savior because he doesn’t deserve that kind of pressure. He will make mistakes. Everybody does. But he will be a great great president and make Ronald Reagan, the great one, proud. one thing is certain. His winning the presidency has given America a chance to be great again and it was the last chance. thank you God.

OMG the horrors, quick all 57 states must rally their electors to reject this egregious misspeller. Activate all the corpsemen (or corpsepersons) and arrest all Trump voters and put them in reeducation camps and spelling training. The camps can be run by the NEA common core.
