I threw Mine away when Carter was President.

My grandfather was a very prominent member of the local Democrat Party. They tried to get him to run for Mayor. Four years of Carter turned him white as a sheet, and he concluded that he had no option but to vote Reagan.

As for me, sitting in school with my coat on, the thermostat cranked down to 60, and half the lights turned off convinced me I would never be a Democrat.

I will never forget the first time I registered to Vote in 1978, the Hippie Chick tried to explain the difference between Democrat and Republican, when she was all done I told her I could never Register with the Party of the Nazi’s and the KKK.

She just about broke down in tears
