I just picked up the Alesmith IPA out of So. Cal. Very good.

In your own Oregon brewery, Rogue,

...In classic John Maier fashion, 20,000 Brews by the Sea is not brewed to style but instead is described by John as a “complexity bomb” that honors this remarkable achievement. The beer uses 20 varieties of hops, 20 specialty malts, has a 20 year shelf life, will be brewed to 20 degrees plato, and will be bottle conditioned for 20 days...

So much for fewer hops.

PS. It was darned hard to get a few bottles.

Black Butte Porter is one of my favorites. Deschutes Brewing makes great stuff!

Their River Ale is about the hoppiest brew I can enjoy on a regular basis.

I fought the IPA thing for many years but I’ve settled in to liking stuff like PMX from Southern Tier.

I never drink at home and rely on whatever I can get in the local bars and clubs.

IPA “were” great, but lately, the brewers work to “out-hop” the competition. There are other avenues to full flavor, than just adding more quantities and varieties of hops.

That's my take. I used to love IPAs, but now they starting to taste like somebody dumped a glass of grapefruit juice into the beer. No balance of flavors.

I’m probably opening the
door to being flamed, but
when it comes to beer, I
drink what I really enjoy.
Sam Adams Boston Lager,
ice cold, in a frosty mug.
IPA’s are a little too much of a hop fest for me, and
leave a bitter after taste.
Beers are very much like
an opinion. Some would tell you that Pearl or Buckhorn
are the best beers on the
planet.

Dogfishead IPA 120, aged 5 to 10 years. Smooth, sweet, delicious.

You just smile and want to crawl under the table and go to sleep.

21% or so alcohol after aging.

I just finished a Blind Pig, which was bottled on 12/19. I am going to go for a Pliny the Elder next. A friend brought them down from Russian River Brewing on Christmas day.

Yep! 120 is hard to get in the wilds of rural Nevada but I can get 90 so it’s all good.

IPA guy here the last 3 years. Heady Topper, Sip of Sunshine, Focal Banger, Enjoy By...are some of the best IPAs made and I have them in my fridge.

Life is too short to drink bad beer. Enjoying a rare (for me) Imperial Stout “Plead The 5th” right now.

HOORAY craft brewers. Capitalism at its finest...the latest iteration.

The reason I like Czech pilsners is because of the liberal use of those good German hops.

Have you tried Ballast Point? Also out of So. Cal.

Not into the fruit flavored stuff, but the Sculpin IPA is excellent.

I have friends who live in Bend, OR and they said that Bend has the most breweries per capita of any city in the U.S. Road trip!

Czech pilsners - great! Was just in Prague last summer and sampled many. Loved them all.

Yes. I believe they are owned by Corona now. One year they made a habenro IPA. Terrific.
