Dear Democrat Senators,

We won, you LOST. We’re in charge, you are so “all back of the bus”. (Richard B. Riddick)

Don’t even try and tell us what we can and can’t do.

Who are we? “WE” are President Donald J. Trump and the American people who elected him, that’s WHO.

” There is simply no aircraft in production today that can compare with the F-35’s...”

...trillion dollar cost.

That memo correctly states the Air Force was premature in declaring IOC.

Even Lockheed would agree with that. It’s not all it will be.

The Air Force did this to speed up the acquisition of airframes and reduce per unit costs to keep the program alive.

The aircraft has carried, tested and released external stores multiple times...successfully, in addition to internal stores.

That's supposed to come with software 3F, not supposed to even enter testing until the end of 2018, almost certainly to be delayed, the current 3i software can't handle any munitions other than internal. Just 2 bombs and 2 long range AA missiles. No Sidewinder. No gun.

Is your contention that because development is not complete that the program should be scrapped?

Or do you contend it should be scrapped for another reason?

What they are REALLY worried about are the YUGE campaign donations from the company over charging the government and greasing their slimy greasy palms!!!!! Government contracts have become NOTHING but corruption and pay to play for these BASTARD reps!!!!!!

There are 175 F-35's "operational" worldwide with 80 more to be delivered in 2017.

All of which will have to be returned to be re-manufactured after it really is operational if it ever can be. Mo money, mo money, mo money...

>>Of course there not another fighter developed that does what the F-35 does.<<

The F-22 is far superior. And now it is probably cheaper than the F-35.

The F-35 is a flying anvil.

They may be in charge constitutionally, HOWEVER when it comes to government overspending to get YUGE campaign donations I don’t think these reps want Trump to take to the GOLDEN microphone and tell their constituents what crooks they REALLY are!!!! How much the company is overcharging TAXPAYERS to grease the palms of their BASTARD REPS!!!!

There’s a big difference in “remanufacturing” and a software upgrade.

the democrats and some GOPe only approve of programs that exceed budget, lag behind schedule, and deliver product/results that doesn’t work.

"There is simply no aircraft in production today that can compare with the F-35’s advanced avionics, networked capabilities and integrated stealth.”

I can't speak to the avionics and stealth, but the "networked capabilities" shouldn't be much more magical than a combination satellite/LOS modem and some halfway-decent software. Does that cost $100Bs?

Scrap it. And make Lockheed spend millions on commercials apologizing if they ever want to get another aircraft program.

Kelly Johnson is spinning in his grave over this travesty.

What they need to do is skip to the next technology. A pilotless plane.

There’s a big difference in “remanufacturing” and a software upgrade.

We're not talking about sticking in a thumbdrive and uploading a software update, there are whole systems that require installation by the manufacturer. By plan.

The F-35, aka JSF, is a poor compromise in all three variants. NO knowledgeable observer can say otherwise. A limited purpose vehicle will defeat a multi purpose one every time, be it racing, working, flying, fighting, whatever.

If any FReeper would like to debate the point, let's have at it.

By the way, all variants have guns, F-35A internally, B&C in external pods which degrade stealth and performance.

Hmmmm...wonder why a bunch of CT representatives want to preserve the F-35.

Wasn't there a term for that, long ago? Something related to pork and barrels, as I recall...

The F-35 appears to be over designed, over thought and too costly.
