I’d like to see them ignore that one. They are so screwed.
They mistake Trump having respect for Russia leadership as him ready to give up the farm. Talking tough has gotten the U.S No where. The strategy of John McCain, Linda, Ryan and Obama is an absolute failure of a policy. Which is fine, you can make mistakes. The bigger problem is they aren’t learning from their mistakes. Do you really think you are going to make Russia bend to your will by calling their President a thug and a murderer every chance you get? Russia has much more in common with America than does Iran and the the Obama administration was more than willing to work with them. Orthodox Christian Russia can 100% be reasoned with and can act pragmatically. They will not always agree and will not always be on the same side with U.S interest but the rate right now is a solid 10%. Abysmal by any objective standard.
Everyone is an ideologue now and all they can hear is “Putin is a thug and a murderer”. That is the U.S policy vis a vi Russia and it has failed for about 8 or 9 years.
