A story published by The Washington Post Friday claims Russia hacked the electrical grid in Vermont. This caused hysteria on social media but has been denied by a spokesman for a Vermont utility company.
The Post story was titled, Russian hackers penetrated U.S. electricity grid through a utility in Vermont, officials say.
The story said, A code associated with the Russian hacking operation dubbed Grizzly Steppe by the Obama administration has been detected within the system of a Vermont utility, according to U.S. officials.
The Post published the story before being able to get comment from the two utility companies in Vermont. The Burlington Electric Department would end up putting out a statement showing the premise of The Washington Post story as being untrue.

Bottom line, based on a U.S propaganda report, WaPo and the MSM reported a completely fake story without any fact checking whatsoever, which as it turns out, was that a SINGLE laptop at a Vermont utility that wasn't connected to their grid was infected with a common piece of malware written in Russia that is distributed by many different hackers, but was described by U.S. officials as "Russia hacked the U.S. electric grid".
WaPo reported this bogus "Russia hacked the U.S. electric grid" story without any further fact checking.
If anyone ever had any notion that the Washington Post might somehow be more credible than, say The National Enquirer, think again!
The Washington Post has become the American Pravda.
Cannot wait until they publish in the original Cyrillic.
We are in for alot of fake news in the next 8 years.
Wow, the media is imploding before our very eyes.
But, mission accomplished. This falsehood is firmly implanted as truth in the public mind.
Nah, nobody listens to them anymore and if they do they don’t care.
I was at the athletic club this afternoon riding the exercise bike and CNN was on one of the TVs. I was watching the Alabama- Washington game but the close captioning on CNN was incredible. They must have gone on for an hour talking about how serious this was and “it’s not just a possibility anymore- it has happened”. I had already read on FR the story was false so was confused by their behavior- I mean, did no one tell them it was fake news?
Somebody smack leaky Lehey upside the head! ...
Notice they say “social media” which is nothing but a bunch of lefty globalists anyway. Social media has been in hysteria for the last year or two over anything not PC, but where did it get them? Trump won and they’re irrelevant. Did Fakebook block this story I wonder?
The Russian ‘hack’ of the US utility story was reported as fact by one of the local SF Bay Area news stations (I forget which) this evening. Just dutiful propagandists for the DNC.
#### em. Putin isn’t Kim jong Il.
He’s not falling for any #### the next 19 days.
And it WAS TRUE that he messed with the grid.
He rang my doorbell and ran and my security system has pictures of him cutting the wires outside my house. :)
We earned the mandate in 2010, 2014, and 2016 Dems so it's happening despite their bullshit.
January 20th Democrats.
They are in control of all our cows or something?
Getting tired of Amazon’s participation in fake news.
Lock em up for FRAUD!
Then lock up the owners, Amazon Jeff Bezos.
Lock up the criminals.
Lock up Bezos!
Lock up Bezos!
Lock up Bezos!
Lock up Bezos!
Editors Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Russian hackers had penetrated the U.S. electric grid. Authorities say there is no indication of that so far. The computer at Burlington Electric that was hacked was not attached to the grid.
