If you have an issue with service the best way to make a complaint is online at the USPS.com website. These complaints are forwarded to your local postmaster who then has only a few days to contact you to resolve the complaint. These complaints are taken seriously and tracked. You can request to be replied to by phone or email.

As far as rural delivery, they work by a separate contract than city carriers. They are not required to leave their vehicles. They must honk and if the customer does not come out a notice is left. If you want pkgs too large for box to be delivered you can let the carrier know a designated covered spot to leave pkgs. The cannot drive more than a 1/4 mile off route to deliver.

As a Retired postmaster I always feel empathy for both customers and employees during Christmas. I don’t miss the stress for sure.

I don't think I've have so much fun as it is with our new Sheriff. Donald not only has the B#lls to call out weasels but the new Republican Party also. I never and I mean never thought I would ever be proud of the Republican's again. Donald has given confidence to many and his new backup crew is really surprising. I think it's going to be a very interesting year.

Thanks for you informative post. For awhile we were having new carriers and I was forever getting someone elses mail and mine would be delivered by different people. It was happening a lot. My son’s young friend got a job as a carrier and I heard him say he had a couple people complaints. After hearing him talk I decided to not say anything about our problem. After that I got a really nice carrier that would leave packages on a bench under my box. He even thanked me for my business. My husband wasn’t impressed. LOL
