Donald Trump wants to concentrate on the US economy, which includes immigration. He doesn’t want to deal with wars. I think he knows the 80’s were relatively peaceful due to “peace through strength”.
How do you think Donald Trump will handle North Korea?
I don’t see him trying to appease North Korea, but I don’t see him pushing for UN sanctions either.
I think he plans to push China hard with respect to North Korea, trade, and currency while be rebuilds US forces. China will try to push back to threatening to invade Taiwan, but if Taiwan was such a pushover, they would have done it years ago.
I think it is still true that China needs us more than we need them.
U.S. hasn't used its leverage, so China feels it can push U.S. around. It has been clear for some time that there should be more than nice talk to force China to use its leverage on N. Korea. If it doesn't, then it should be prepared to pay economic cost.
