Plano Rep. Sam Johnson to retire in 2018

War hero and long-serving Congressman Sam Johnson will retire in 2018, he announced Friday morning. Johnson, an Air Force veteran known for his time as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam conflict, has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1991. The Plano Republican is 86 years old. In a letter to his constituents on Friday, Johnson wrote “it has been a great honor to serve you and strive to be the kind of representative the people want, need and deserve.”

He’s my US Rep. A truly good and decent man. Many corporate HQs have or are moving into his district and Frisco/McKinney are two of the fastest growing cities in the country.

Does he represent Garland, and if so why on earth has he not called in airstrikes yet?

Just after the election I was travelling to DC for work and found myself on a flight from DFW to Reagan National with several members of congress. Congressman Johnson and the Republicans flew in cattle class while Eddie Bernice Johnson being the good Democrat flew first class.

I don't think so. I think he catches the sliver of Richardson in Collin county, but Garland is all in Dallas county, so he wouldn't have any of it.
