Senate Republicans will begin the confirmation process for President-elect Trump's Cabinet this week amid efforts by Democrats to stall the process.

Half a dozen nominees will appear at Senate confirmation hearings scheduled for Jan. 11. The Senate Judiciary Committee will start a two-day hearing beginning Jan. 10 to consider the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., who is Trump's pick for attorney general.

"The priorities between now and Jan. 20 are hearings on Cabinet members," said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

Besides Sessions, the other nominees appearing are Rex Tillerson for state, Betsy DeVos for education, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly for homeland security, Elaine Chao for transportation and Mike Pompeo for CIA.

Let’s see if Linda & McTraitor side with the rats. Trump is going to need Pence’s vote in the Senate for the next 2 years. At this point l want to see Sessions go after Linda more then HRC. Why can’t the good people in SC recall this bastard?

Bingo. The Dems are powerless to stop anything if the Republicans decide to push these nominees through

Trump should tweet they care more about their own personal vendettas than the country.

But....but.... they could shut the government down and keep anything from getting done if they don’t get their way with Trump. That would be terrible! Terrible! It would be so so very discouraging. It would be, well, I have to go find my safe space and stop thinking about it.

Trump should just announce that the Senate has until their Easter Recess to confirm all his appointments (including his Supreme Court Justice and other judicial picks) or he “recess appoints” any that haven’t been confirmed as soon as they leave town. Sure, some of the McCain’s of the party will squeal as well as the democrats about usurping senate power, but let them. Draw the red line and stick to it...

I suppose if I saw my world coming apart and my indictment for felonious crimes approaching on the horizon I would panic too.

The Democrats aren't looking to advance good government here. They are looking to escape coming legal indictments and the destruction of their evil systems and power.

And in my humble opinion the GOP obstructionist (Think McCain, Linda Graham and Jeff Flake) could be a bigger problem than the Dems. Wouldn't shock me at all for those ba$t@rds to hold things up.

>>Last week, Schumer called on the outside House ethics watchdog office to investigate Price’s stock portfolio, suggesting he help pass bills that would increase the value of his stocks.

“We don’t know if he broke the law,” Schumer said. “But there certainly is enough serious questions to warrant a serious investigation before any hearing is held on Congressman Price to become Secretary of HHS.”<<

Like Schumer is so clean. Next target for WikiLeaks - releasing emails of Senators profiting from insider trading.

What each committee chairman should do is call for 15 minutes of questions from each panel member the same day followed by a vote.

On the Senate floor Mitch should call for a vote to end any filibuster before it begins and vote the nominee by a decree of a simple majority......the same day as it passes from committee.

Democrats have started the big squeal. Shumer just sent McConnel a copy of a letter McConell sent Harry Reed in 2009 demanding a number of things Obama appointees must complete before attending confirmation hearings. Now Shumer is demanding that Republicans must meet the same standards required of Democrats. The link below shows a copy of the 2009 letter with Shumer’s additions and tweet.
