The dirty little secret about Amazon is that Alibaba provides a LOT of the products they sell.

eBay sells a bunch of their stuff with free shipping, not quite as rapid as Amazon but as fast as a lot of domestic shippers.

You're showing your ignorance of the Constitution again and flipping the presumptions of the Constitution, like the Lying Left. The Constitution doesn't have to sanction something for it to be a right of a state or individual (Amendment 9 & 10). If it is not a federal power delegated and mandated by the Constitution, the power is RETAINED by the states and individual (Id.).

As I said, the Constitution authorizes but doesn't require the feds to regulate such. Thus outside constitutional federal law, EVERY US citizen, corporation or entity has the Constitutional right to free, unrestricted trade with any foreign country.

But nice try. Maybe you'll get it right one of these days.

But if robot driven automation creates huge labor dislocations, we may need more social programs to help people out. I know conservatives don’t like to hear that. But it’s the truth. On the other hand, until we have raised the tariffs and created jobs and production in the US, we can’t afford more safety nets.

Finland I think has made a first step in addressing this problem. The problem of displaced workers is indeed great and I fear we will come up with the wrongs solutions. As old as I am it matters little to me but the Luddites will be reborn.

EVERY US citizen, corporation or entity has the Constitutional right to free, unrestricted trade with any foreign country subject to trade regulations, import restrictions and import duties as levied by congress.

Fixed it. So you'd be wrong again. But then it is your style to lie and make a fool out of yourself.

So were you into trading with North Vietnam during the 1960's? Jane is that you?

I’d replace all income taxes with tariffs and a NRST. In a heart beat.

"To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.

The issue isn't constitutional, dork, it is economic.

Jim, It is ridiculous to think that any citizen/corporation has complete freedom to trade with another country. You do not have economic freedom with the rest of the world. As it should be. You DO have Constitutional right to totally duty free trade within the USA. But even with interstate commerce it is subject to regulation.

The economy, especially trade, is subject to the political whims(some call them laws) of the party in power. It has always been that way since the first boat carry cargo set out for a foreign shore.

Nope. Were talking manual labor jobs not clean jobs. Right now you can make a very good living doing the dirty jobs but few opt for that. They want clean, 9-5.

Who is “they”? If you offer pay of $100.00/hr to do welding you will getting 10,000 applications. If you offer $6.00/hr you will get zero applications. The trick is to find the price point between $6.00 and $100.00 per hour where you get the right kind of applicants with the right experience level. It is all supply and demand.

Most things on Amazon are made in China anyway. Not sure there’s a lot of difference here.

You might get 100 but of those 100 how many could actually do the work? Very very few. How many would stick with it. Nearly none. There are already plenty of welding jobs with few to do them. If you wind up paying a higher scale then the product price goes up. Either wages to buyers need to increase or the business no longer has a market. In short all wages need to adjust upward. Now youre right back wher you started...

You should get out more. There are so many unscrupulous employers they have in fact hired millions of illegals, paying them 1998 wages and in fact they're the GD donors, they've been bankrolling/bribing these corrupt politicians for decades to ensure their violent open borders remain wide open. Ya see they have no desire to see their low wage golden goose killed.

Get ready for some big changes.
