Standard practice is to immediately quarantine the dog for testing, then euthanasia once tests are done.

Are they receiving SPECIAL treatment for some reason?

That is not standard treatment everywhere especially if all shots are up to date and there are no previous bite or other aggression reports. The behavior of the person who was bitten is also taken into account. For example, Your fully up to date oh it’s rabies shot dog is not going to be put down for biting someone breaking into your home.

Intelligent people do not ever put their face close to any dog’s face unless they own that dog-that guest is obviously dumb...

People coming and impounding/euthanizing someone’s dog is standard practice-where do you live? Unless a dog is a stray with no owner, or is not on the owner’s property-either fenced or tied-whatever happens if your dog bites someone on your own property is between you and the bitee, as long as they are an invited guest-payoff, lawsuit, whatever-but this is a remote rural area, too...

If your dog bites an intruder on the property, tough s***-the intruder is lucky if the property owner doesn’t shoot them for just being there...
