House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) insisted that President-elect Donald Trump's campaign promise to deport 11 million immigrants is not going to happen.
During a CNN town hall on Thursday night, Ryan was asked by a recipient of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) program who had with her a young daughter whether she would be deported.
"I can see you love your daughter, you are a nice person who has a great future ahead of you, and I hope your future is here," he said.
"What we have to do is find a way to make sure that you can get right with the law, and we've got to do this in a good way so that the rug doesn't get pulled out from under you and your family gets separated."
CNN host Jake Tapper questioned Ryan about Trump's mass deportation plan, reminding him of the campaign promise to create a "deportation force" to round up millions of immigrants.
"I know, I know," the Speaker said, laughing. "But I'm here to tell you, in Congress, it's not happening."

Someone here theorized that Ryan got handed the dossier last year.

Ryan and the Republicans will be the Opposition for Trump. The overwhelming re-election of Ryan as speaker proves that the Republican Party is in the same corner as the Democrat Party. Trump will either accept his role as Dictator or he will accomplish nothing.

Bad reporting. There never was a “mass deportation plan”. Only criminal aliens.
Ryan is a continual saboteur an danger to Trump and we have not yet found a way to neutralize him. He must be removed by any legal means possible. He needs his own 35 page dossier, only one with more credibility.
Why do illegals from other countries get to question the Speaker of our House? Can WE do that in Mexico?
It is not just Ryan. It is the Republican Party, almost all of them.Trump is a threat to their income streams and future job prospects. They can’t let him get anything after a (symbolic only) repeal of obamacare. Any real move to impeach will come from the Republicans.

In an interview that aired in September 2015 on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley pressed Trump about what he would do with the population.
Pelley: “Eleven, 12 million illegal immigrants —”
Trump: “Or whatever the number is.”
Pelley: “Still in the country, what do you do?”
Trump: “If they’ve done well, they’re going out and they’re coming back in legally. Because you said it—”
Pelley: “You’re rounding them all up?”
Trump: “We’re rounding ‘em up in a very humane way, in a very nice way. And they’re going to be happy because they want to be legalized. And, by the way, I know it doesn’t sound nice. But not everything is nice.”

Apparently there are “white hat” hackers in the US and world. Maybe they’ll do us all a favor and lay completely bare just what’s controlling these putatively conservative @-holes in the House and Senate, starting with John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Paul Ryan.

There should be one. Yep, EVerify and other means first, but at some point we may need to do this the hard way. As a native Californian, I’m thinking my home state. The colonizers are pretty burrowed in here.
I don’t think we need to go door-door, but we should arrest them as we encounter them.
