I’m not sure why I should care who doesn’t attend an event. It really doesn’t matter to me even a little. I’d worry if Melania said she wasn’t attending. She’s about the only one I truly expect to be there.
I honestly wouldn’t mind if the oath of office took place in the oval office or the scotus chambers or some high school classroom. It simply doesn’t matter.
My point isn’t about necessarily the Oath etc.
It is about the dangerous optics this creates to the world and the country. This is not a civil rights moment or type of event for these lawmakers, it is their duty to respect the office and the will of the people.
