I’m also in IT and have also been here since 1998. And I love the same old FR format.

All the “modern” websites take forever to load and crash every browser I have on my iPad - Safari, Chrome, Brave. I was going crazy yesterday!

PLEASE don’t change FR into one of those!

Drudge is another website that loads quickly and doesn’t crash my browsers - and it’s been the same since 1998 also!

I love Free Republic. I realized how great a site it is after having to suffer through Lucianne.com as an alternative the past few days. I only wish it was a little more mobile friendly and allowed image attachments easier. But the bare bones allows for speedy loads and makes it a pleasure to use. Wow I missed it. Thanks, Jim.

I know which sites I was able to access on innoguration day and which ones I wasn’t. And I know which sites fail to load for me on every third try and which ones don’t. In fact, I know which site fails on me on every “big” news day like clockwork.

Obviously we all have a lot of patience, but let’s be frank, here. Nothing stays the same. Freerepublic has a lot going for it, but I compare it to the old Checker Taxi. In spite of their strengths, well, they are no more. The world is always changing. Nothing stays the same.

That being said, some people think taxi’s have not been the same since the Checker brand went under. There certainly was a lot of room in those back seats. But priorities change and competition is always there to offer new things. The customer sweet spot constantly shifts.
