WASHINGTONPresident Donald Trump starts his first week with a packed schedulefrom pushing through his slate of cabinet nominees to a raft of executive orders and setting the direction on foreign trade.
Mr. Trump is planning executive actions early in the week on immigration and trade, two White House officials said, and will have a chance to lay the groundwork for a trade deal during a meeting Friday with British Prime Minister Theresa May , the first foreign leader to visit the new president in the White House. He also will meet with congressional leaders on Monday and attend a lawmakers retreat later in the week, where he could discuss his legislative agenda.
The presidents pick to run the Central Intelligence Agency, Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo, is scheduled for a confirmation vote in the Senate on Monday, and White House officials expect at least three more cabinet nomineesBen Carson for Housing and Urban Development, Nikki Haley as United Nations ambassador and Rick Perry for energy secretaryto face votes by weeks end.
Rex Tillerson, meanwhile, on Sunday cleared a key hurdle on his path to become secretary of state.
Mr. Trump was optimistic about the beginning of his presidency despite a rocky first weekend that saw mass anti-Trump protests across the nation and world and his representatives repeated falsehoods about media reporting of verifiable events.CONTINUE

Me too! :-)
Anyone else have a feeling of ease like a 1000 pound weight has been lifted off his/her shoulders since 12:01 Friday?
I still can hardly grasp the magical series of events that have happened.
But I’m happy :)
No more of the marxist. Thank God.
Perfect!
I’ve already scolded Fox News, twice!
Oh, yes!
For certain.
I’ve barely stopped smiling.
I actually feel younger and much HAPPIER!
Unable to read the subscription site. Whatever else is on President Trump’s slate, I want to see immediate steps to undo Obama’s executive orders and actions. Starting first with reversing amnesty and enforcing the law by starting to deport all illegal aliens
Now, after finding out what a POS a long time sort of friend is ( she went to the stupid march and she and her husband, whom I was friends with first, are DEAD AND BURIED as far as I'm concerned! ), I feel a bit depressed.
OTOH, I rejoice in the fact that PRESIDENT TRUMP is already working, hard, on our behalf.
I only did it one time, but I’m certain that they’ll be getting quite a LOT of notes fr4om me as time goes by.
I think it’s because we know we have a future now.
Nothing makes one feel older than a communist/dictatorship mix of govt. Which Is what we’ve had.
And nothing makes one feel younger than the gift of hope :)
If liberals imagine that they've got a single enemy, they live in a fantasy world. If they think that cabinet positions are all they have to fight, they ain't seen nothing yet.
All of these teams are going to be pushing forward the agenda that brought President Trump to the White House, and liberals will need to look 19 directions at the same time as they move forward.
They may operate under the assumption that the White House will be directing from on high, but these teams had their marching orders when they gathered weeks ago, they've already done their initial brain storm sessions, put it together into plans and have already started moving forward into enacting policies.
I'm so enjoying their ignorance. This is like watching the Iraqi army in those moments before the shock & awe.
Hopefully, they'll continue reading the WaPo pages and the old grey lady, and miss what's happening right under their nose.
For anyone who hasn't bothered to browse the job listings for government jobs recently, it is worth the time to look right now. Trump has his generals, but his army is already marching.
Trump looked somewhat nervous during the walk from within the Capital building to the stage door. But once those doors opened for him, he was the boss.
GREAT!
I complain about Geraldo on Twitter, too.
I always say that women hate him - slimebag, sleazy. etc.
:)
I was surprised I was able to read the article.
Linked via Drudge.
Oh hell yes, EVERYONE hates Jerry Rivers! ;^)
Right. I know that and I of course, I remember.
Whenever I want to make an impact, I also handwrite a letter.
Very effective.
I just want to hear him say “There will be no ACA penalty of 695 dollars for 2016”. For starters anyway.
Damned Schumer and the Democraps are slow rolling the confirmation process for Trump’s cabinet appts.
Obama was given 7 confirmations on his first inauguration day, Schumer allowed only 2. Barring a great problem with a nominee (which doesn’t exist in these cases), a new POTUS deserves (and needs!) to have his cabinet appts. filled rapidly, for the good of our COUNTRY.
Democraps can’t block these nominees (unless there are Republican defections), but they are using Senate procedures and traditions to slow them down. What garbage!!
TWEETS work well for President Trump, though; I must admit.
IIRC, that is already in the pipeline.
