So why, when President Trump and his family are long out of the White House, and his administration is enshrined in the annals of history, will Michelle Obama – a woman with no connection to the fashion industry before she came into public view – be remembered as the more iconic of the two?

It’s simple. Becoming an icon is about more than just a pretty face and an international platform.

Mrs Obama had some nice clothes and she had some awful clothes, neither of which seemed to catch on. It’s all well and good that she tried to help out unknown designers but some were unknown for good reason, and Mrs. Obama’s sense of fashion seemed more faddish than stylish.

I said that in a post here recently. She knows who she is, what she wants in life and does not care what others think. I read today that she helped design her inauguration clothes. Her degree is in design and architecture. That is how she started designing her jewelry. She is the steadying influence on President Trump and I think, the family, too. She went from the valley to the mountain top, if that makes sense.
