Donald Trump is expected to block all refugees from Syria and six other Middle Eastern and African countries on Wednesday.
Religious minorities escaping persecution will escape the ban which will last for several months, it is thought, until more aggressive vetting is in place.
Executive ordes expected to be signed on Wednesday will block visas being issued to anyone from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, said aides and immigration experts close to the White House, according to Reuters.

Sadly, another problem: my area of coastal NJ has a small population of Christian Syrians: horribly anti-Semitic.

To whatever degree that might be true with a particular person it must be made clear to him/her that no funny business will be tolerated.They must keep their dislike to themselves.
Exactly. And it is stupid to expect the UN to do the vetting as is done now. May I be so bold as to suggest that ethnic Syrian Christians who have proven to be good citizens be hired or put on a committee to do the vetting?

That's also the solution for a post-ISIS sifting out of terrorists hiding under burkas and the like. Run all the captured escapees through a gauntlet of survivors and prove to THEM you were never a fighter/supporter

I am so, so glad somebody is finally letting in the Chrisitan refugees. It was scandalous that Obama kept them out. But of course, that was only one of the many scandalous and cruel and pro-Muslim things he did.

No State Department dweeb would ever know the difference, I admit. I like what someone else suggested, let Syrian Christians do the vetting. One sure tell, for Syrians at least, is if they speak Aramaic. That will get you your first few who could then vet the rest.
Many Syrian Christians are fluent in Arabic and French.
Aramaic, not so much, except in some regions.
