Another oh my god moment..
That whole issue has been so distorted by the TrumpDerangementSyndrome elites
Trump thinks the 1950’s-1960’s concept of NATO is outdated (it is) and NATO should pick up more of the costs for their own defense (they should)
We as did Trump could ask why the US is footing the bill to defend their national borders when they don’t want any (and criticize us for wanting to defend ours)
and why we are defending them against the Red Menace when their own euro-enviro- greenies have made them reliant on Russia for energy

She said something about Nato. That her country would spend 2% of her nations GDP so it would be more fair.
If that is her first message to the members at the UN, it is absolutely fantastic and long-overdue.

But you left out the part where she strongly supported Trump’s position that NATO nations needed to fulfill their 2% GDP commitments. Specifically she talked about the cyber warfare issue and defeating daesh as she called ISIS.
I think Trump is behind NATO, but on his terms. Which means that it will serve our interest, not necessarily the Europeans.
I hope not either. It needs to DIE. The faster, the better.

That will come in the form of a couple of Executive Orders, cutting the US contributions to the UN “bigly!” Not to zero (yet) but enough that these “perfumed princes” get the message that we’re not their sugar daddy” any longer. I’d personally like to see President Trump also “require” that they all assiduously observe New York City’s traffic laws and that if they don’t, they will be sent home. Diplomatic Immunity doesn’t mean they get to be scoflaws.
Good memories produce more reliable allies
Trump has said that he is for NATO, if everybody pays their fair share, and if fighting terrorism becomes a NATO high priority.

That would be motivational.
