I have no sympathy for this guy, any more than I do for Bradley Manning. In the military, you follow your orders, with very few exceptions. Which wanting to see the President’s birth certificate is not one of.
You’re in the minority here, babe, as you would know if you’d been here longer.
Ophelia?? Are you in the wrong forum?
You won’t last long at FreeRepublic. Nazism does not go over well here.
That's the key word here, as this would be one of those exceptions. The oath to defend and protect the Constitution override blind loyalty to even the President.
An illegitimate President cannot give a legal order.
It is really quite simple, a CIC must be demonstrably a natural born citizen. Obama is not, never was, and never can be.
I wouldn’t want to take orders from someone that is illegally in the office of POTUS. For him to go to all the trouble he has of hiding everything, you can not tell me he was EVER legally entitled to hold that office. There is NO EXCUSE for us to not see the microfiche of his birth certificate. He was born in the 60s. I was born in the early 50s and my birth certificate is on microfiche. We have a right to see it.
I’m in agreement, those in the military must follow orders or the military will become a shambles in short order.
But the orders must be lawful. obama was not a lawful President. Not just from his questionable background (lacking authentic birth certificate), but for his total disregard for the Constitution, rule of law, and our culture.
So it becomes a double edged sword. The fact that we did not have a lawful President made the military a shambles.
I tend to support this officer as he was loyal to his oath.
What has made our military uniquely effective is that it encourages actual thinkers. I think this doctor went above and beyond but can understand his principled steadfastness. Either that, or he wanted to get kicked out. While military men and women are supposed to be obedient, they are also required to not follow unlawful orders - any orders from an ineligible CINC would eb unlawful orders - except the rest of the chain of command weighs a lot more than this doctor.
