Mosul (Iraq) (AFP) - In recaptured areas of Mosul, the extreme interpretation of Islam that jihadists forced on the local population for more than two years has sparked a backlash against religious observance.

After the Islamic State group seized the city in June 2014, it made prayers compulsory for people who were outside their homes, banned smoking, mandated beards for men and veils for women, smashed artefacts it said were idolatrous, publicly executed homosexuals and cut off the hands of thieves.

After they got a taste of Islam as it was practiced by Mohammed and is instructed by him in the Koran they are turning against it.

The only peaceful muslims are the ones who do not take it seriously.

Cafeteria muslims.

We have now found suitable candidates in Iraq to come to America and Make America Great again....

Yet America’s liberals are in an uproar over keeping out the very kind who would do the same to them. Weird choice of suicide while taking us down with their misplaced-heart ignorance. Not happening.

The jihadists cast their efforts as enacting the true interpretation of Islam -- an assertion that most Muslims reject -- but for some people, rather than making them more religious as intended, IS extremism had the opposite effect.

One thing that helps us Kafirs out IMHO, is because Islam is such a difficult religion for most Muslims to practice as Allah and Muhammad want it practiced, and is spelled out in the Koran and Hadiths, is Islam has many more heretics and apostates than fundamentalists. - Tom

Why should America bring these people in? We don't need them.
They should stay in Iraq and change their country.
Removing people who don't take Islam seriously is just
making Iraq and other Muslim nations increasingly more fanatically Muslim. In fact we should be encouraging non Muslim populations
to move into Islamic countries.
