After initially saying there were two suspects, police from the Sureté du Québec confirmed around noon Monday that there was only one. The other is being considered a witness.
Court officials in Quebec City identified the men as Alexandre Bissonnette and Mohamed El Khadir. It was not immediately clear which man was the suspect. The TVA network said Mr. Bisonnette was the only suspect.
