When I was stationed in Japan in 1960 a Seaman 1st re-upped and had a new Healey waiting for him at his next duty station. And I bought his old car, which he'd been driving in Japan. It wasn't a Healey, but having even a '52 Studebaker in Japan in 1960 was a BIG deal. 😊

I had several. Rust buckets one and all, but a kick-butt little roadster that was pure fun to drive.

Had a friend in the navy that extended for six years, got a big bonus, bought a de Tomaso Pantera...totaled it within the month. He was fine...well, except for the 6 year extension.
