All of that said, we should be careful not to project reasonableness onto democrats.
There are a few Democrats who are indicating that this isn’t the hill they want to die on. They want to keep their powder dry for the NEXT SCOTUS picks that may come up if Justice Kennedy and/or Justice Ginsberg retire.
Schmuck “Pagliacci” Schumer is doing what all Democrats do when they are out of power - act like they are still in power. Elections have consequences (”I won!” - Obama), and the Dems are in position to become a super-minority party as these antics continue.
UpChuck had a large group of insane democrats protesting outside his Brooklyn condo demanding to know why he isn’t standing against Trump’s cabinet appointments and getting them rejected.
