Al Sharpton Slammed on Social Media for Calling Jesus a ‘Refugee’
Breitbart ^ | 1-31-2017 | Jerome Hudson

Left-wing activist and former primetime MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton is getting grilled on social media after he referred to Jesus Christ as a refugee, in a naked attempt to ding President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. It didn’t take long for social media users to blast Sharpton and point out the Biblical inaccuracies in the tweet, specifically that Mary and Joseph traveled to Egypt to pay their taxes — something Sharpton has struggled with in the past.

One Twitter user pointedly suggested to Sharpton, “pay your taxes and learn Bible.”

Actually the best Biblical verse to negate illegal immigration is this--

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,

for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. - Romans 13: 1-4

When Al Sharpton gets to meet Lord Jesus- real soon by the look of him, Lord Jesus will look at him and say-- "Who's this guy??"

Al Sharpton Slammed on Social Media for Calling Jesus a ‘Refugee’

_____________________________________________

This crap is nothing new. These same phony baloney preacher types have been telling us for years that Jesus was a homeless guy.

This is just SSDD.

Jesus as a "refugee?"
So what is his history as an emigrant? What refugee camps did he stay in? What family took him in? We need a little biography here to show Jesus' status as a "refugee." So far, it looks from the record that Jesus stayed in the land of his birth, at least it says so in all the extant records and did not seek refuge from the persecution he experienced in his home territory.

Well to be fair one of the wise men did tell Joseph and Mary to flee from Bethlehem to Egypt to escape Herod’s killing of the innocents.

Quotes from the racist preacher without a congregation, a functional mind, OR a soul =

Following the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman, Sharpton led several protests and rallies criticizing the Sanford Police Department over the handling of the shooting and called for Zimmerman’s arrest: “Zimmerman should have been arrested that night. You cannot defend yourself against a pack of Skittles and iced tea.”

Sean Hannity accused Sharpton and MSNBC of “rush[ing] to judgment” in the case. MSNBC issued a statement in which they said Sharpton “repeatedly called for calm” and further investigation.

Following the acquittal of Zimmerman, Sharpton called the not guilty verdict an “atrocity” and “a slap in the face to those that believe in justice.”

Subsequently, Sharpton and his organization, National Action Network, held rallies in several cities denouncing the verdict and called for “Justice for Trayvon.”

..and they went to Bethlehem to be counted so that they might be taxed.

Actually the best Biblical verse to negate illegal immigration is this--...

Romans 13 is a good admonishment to render onto Caesar (or the Government) the things that belong to Caesar, but I'd simply go with the Ten Commandments:
Thou shalt not bare false witness.
Thou Shalt not covet.

To enter this Country illegally is to bare false witness as to who you are, and the reason 99.999% of those enter this Country illegally is because they covet the free goodies given away by our large Welfare State.

I feel for those from Syria that are caught up in the middle of a civil war that was facilitated by Obama's and Hillary's desire to support ISIS and their Saudi masters - but they should be seeking refuge in nearby nations (fellow muslim nations) until the Civil War peters out (which hopefully it will - now that the Obama regime is gone. We just need to stifle McCain and Lyndsey).

The Lord's Cliff Note's version of the Ten Commandments, respecting the 2nd Table (Man's dealing with fellow Man) - to love your neighbor as yourself - is to deal honestly with your neighbor. Our neighbors need to follow the laws of the land. Other Nations don't have 'free-range', fence free, policies - they should not expect the United States to be unique in this regard. If I go to another Nation I don't expect I should be allowed carte blanche to break their laws.

Isn’t it surmised that the Magi gifts supported the holy family in Egypt? Not exactly refugee status.

I seem to recall another Bible story where Moses was leading the children of Israel and they came to the nation of...I want to say Edom??? I could be wrong about that. But anyway, they asked permission to enter the nation, just to cut through as a shortcut. They promised to clean up after themselves and not cause any trouble. When permission was denied, they went way out of their way to go around the territory. That tells me that #1, God wants us to ask permission to enter other nations. #2, we are not to cause any trouble while we're in those nations. (In other words, don't trash the border, don't kill or rape people, don't brag that you're "enriching" the new nation or taking over.) #3, if permission is denied, then stay out, even if it means inconvenience for you. And even if you think it's unfair.

They came back but I suppose for a brief period he was, indeed, a refugee or, rather, his parents were. He went along for the ride.

One can be a refugee and still have financial resources.

It IS fair to call Jesus, Mary, and Joseph refugees because they went into exile in Egypt to escape persecution.

It IS reasonable to suppose they used the gifts of the Magi as financial support, and did not become beggars or recipients of some sort of Egyptian benefit program.

It IS necessary to add that they went back to Nazareth as soon as the risk from King Harod was over. They did not remain any longer in Egypt than they had to.

Yes, the sacrifice for a baby boy in Israel at the time was a one year old lamb (from Leviticus 12:6) but if the parents were too poor, they could sacrifice 2 doves. Mary and Joseph sacrificed 2 doves so they were poor, and the gold and other gifts certainly helped them when they moved to Egypt.
