Fellow Republicans Warn Trump Administration: 'Garage Bands' Don't Score Big Hits On the Charts
Washington Examiner ^ | 2.2.17 gmt | By David M. Drucker (@DavidMDrucker)

Congressional Republicans are warning President Trump that a first 100 days that unfolds like his administration's chaotic first 10 days could undermine their agenda and spark a voter revolt.

The White House's lack of communication and coordination with allies in Congress — and even agencies charged with carrying out Trump's executive orders — has left some Republicans frustrated and concerned.

They stand ready to support Trump, even on some of his more politically charged actions, but can't do so effectively if the administration acts secretively and without input.

A House Republican consistently supportive of Trump described the new administration as a "garage band," reflecting his colleagues' anxiety that voters could interpret an ongoing state of chaos as incompetence.

With Republicans controlling all levels of government, they would most likely feel the brunt of that public dissatisfaction, as past presidents, and congressional majorities, have learned in midterm elections past.

Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the No. 3 ranking Republican in the Senate, urged the White House to avoid distractions and destructive behavior.

"Stay focused," Thune said, during a brief interview with the Washington Examiner. "We want to stay focused."

"We have a specific agenda which we have laid out and which we think the American people are asking us to get busy with," Thune continued. "If the administration can successfully work with us on those things, I think we'll make headway. And, I think we'll find that if we get results the American people will reward that."

The Trump presidency got off to an active start with a flurry of executive orders. That wasn't the problem; many of them involved fulfilling campaign promises that have substantial Republican support. At issue was the execution.

Missed point -- the music industry has been overturned and overrun by the internet. Trumps using the very same internet to overturn and overrun the establishment swamp.

" ... [Trumps lack of] coordination with allies in Congress ... "

I supposes is the real complaint and the term "allies" is being used overly broad and generous.

Where they fall short is not realizing and underestimating the power of "WIN". It's the only thing all Humans of every race, color and creed have in common". Win for the team, and Trump's team is growing and will continue to grow, even making strong inroads to other countries.

Thank you for your list. I would add George Thorogood and the Destroyers to the list. He is known for Bad to the Bone” and “One bourbon, one scotch and one beer”.

George Thoroughgood and the Delaware Destroyers.
I saw them when they were actually playing in George’s mom’s garage.

Are these the same republicans who did everything they could to help Hillary?

They haven’t seen chaotic. Wait until they lose their election and can’t lobby for 5 years.

Understand the source. Chaos is actually doing something. Running smoothly to the establishment would be Trump getting to DC and playing along with the same old crap they've been doing for decades. “Bipartisan” deals that sell us down the river, but maybe a little slower than usual. I think they're shocked DJT didn't turn out to be a liar who just said things to win an election. He didn't get to DC and say “OK I'll be nice and play the game.”

So yea, to them real change, good change for the people, is considered chaos.

Instead of whining why don’t they introduce legislation to repeal obamacare and do tax reform? Instead of complaining step up and keep pace!

Whatthe RINOS don’t get is that the Trump supporters will support Trump against any and ALL attacks or pressures to return to business as usual. We worked too hard to get Trump the presidency to let you go back to the establishment’s practices. We will work just as hard to get RINOS out of office.BEWARE being primaried. We KNOW who you are!!!

The eGOP lost big time this election, so who in their right mind would listen to those losers?

Trump beat 15 other eGOP candidates to win.
