When Gen. Michael Flynn marched into the White House Briefing Room to declare that "we are officially putting Iran on notice," he drew a red line for President Trump. In tweeting the threat, Trump agreed.
His credibility is now on the line.
And what triggered this virtual ultimatum?

Trump isn’t McCain or Bush so I won’t worry too much about it just yet.
Is there a link for this so we can see the original? Thanks.
Oops, never mind!
Trump hates the thought of war - but he has the balls to go for the win if someone attacks us. Just ignoring them is not an option as long as they collude with N.K. and send so many terrorists out into the world.
I think Trump's idea here would be: 1) make certain they understand we mean business and that alone will take care of half the problem.
2) If it ever does come to force, make certain you do them more damage than they can do you -- no quagmires!
I think that's the formula for winning, but time will tell...
The problem with Iran/Muslims is they don’t adhere to Mutially Assured Destruction. MAD is not a deterrent to them as it is to countries such as Russia.
*I'm not saying we couldn't win a nuclear war with Iran. What I am saying is that we'd rather avoid an exchange of nukes.
we have been kicking this can down the block sense 1979 and Jimmy Carter—It never gets better. Looks like we may have to take on the Mad Mullahs and put the Shahs son back on the peacock thrown. End their miss rule with the sword of war—Real War—Declared War—Put America on a war footing. With War Powers Trump can enact his changes swiftly and end all dissent with police action—shut down “Anti-American Press” Haul out the garbage on National TV. I don’t think Trump would do this—nor-abuse his powers like a democrat might.
Who believes that Iran had any intention of honoring that “agreement”? Not even Obama I suspect.
The original sin was going into Iraq and not Iran. Now Iraq is a vassal state of Iran and Iran is immensely more powerful and flush with our money. Looking back, George Bush was an unmitigated disaster for going into Iraq and attempting to nation build. Absolute disaster...
Hopefully, DJT knows that he is not dealing with rational people, but a bunch of madmen who are still fighting the crusades.
We should have smashed the Islamocracy back in 1979, and every year since then. It is because of that Idiot Jimmy Carter that the world will be drenched in blood before those religious kooks are brought to heel.
The most insane thing in history is to allow Ayatollahs to get their hands on Nuke ICBMs.
Hitler in the Sudetenland was a crucial point in history at which much bloodshed could have been prevented. This is Hitler in the Sudetenland times 1000.
And this is why virtually the entire F***ing government is a collection of idiots on this issue. They do not grasp that some people will not be deterred by retaliatory destruction.
The Iranian leadership believes that if they set the world on fire, the Mahdi will return, and Islam will rule earth for all eternity.
Dying in the cause of Allah is their PREFERENCE!
I hope DJT understands the situation. I know Secretary of Defense Mattis understands. A preemptive strike on their nuclear weapons is probably the only solution.
I’ll add that you are exactly right. All the talk of them being afraid of Trump is silly. They are afraid of no one because deterrent means nothing to them.
Hopefully, DJT knows that he is not dealing with rational people, but a bunch of madmen who are still fighting the crusades.
Sec. Mattis will educate him. Mattis knows their mindset very well.
Speak softly. Carry a big stick.
Better not telegraph your red lines. Better keep them worried.
Yup. Overwhelming force is the only way to put an end to this. For years, we’ve merely engaged in mental masturbation with these cretins. We need another General Curtis LeMay running the business of war.
