I am aware of the abominable behavior of some people in Nazi Germany, and of the death and destruction dealt upon the “Jews”. With that said....I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING POUNDED OVER THE HEAD WITH THE HOLOCAUST. Seriously, 100 million may have been killed in the decades surrounding WW II. Why must the killing of the Jews be the most talked about, worried about, guarded against and brought up? It was literally a drop in a bucket of blood.
We as a nation, as a people need to get rid of this collective guilt. We feel it for slavery, for the holocaust, for being anti sodomite marriage, for not feeding those who would not get off the couch domestically, for not providing for the care AND cessation of children we have not fathered, and the feeding of 5 billion worldwide, who won’t learn how to feed themselves.
Oh yes, we feel the guilt, we are triggered by our reaction to it. We no longer want to be free men, because others are not. So we crawl, beg for mercy, and whine like a slave whos Master found we did not serve him correctly.
I guess what I am saying is, I will no longer play this evil game. The Holocaust happened 70+ years ago, and I don’t care any longer. Never again to me, means never again will government be allowed to become so strong that it can enslave us all. THAT is the lesson to be learned from the Holocaust.
The only response to the murder of 6 million Jews that really matters is the might of the Israel Defense Force. The Muslims would slaughter every Jew in Israel if not for Israel’s weapons and military know how. And if antisemitism gets worse in other parts of the world, every Jew can move to Israel and be protected.
All the hatred that was directed at the Jewish people for 2,000 years is now being directed at the Jewish State. So what did Arthur Blank have to say about Obama selling Israel down the river? Not a word.
My grandparents escaped the antisemitic pogroms of Eastern Europe. And I can tell you that, as a Jew, nothing makes me prouder than to see the Star of David on an Israeli bomber jet.
I don’t need candlelight vigils and Remembrance days. “Never again” only sounds good to me when it’s spoken quietly by an IDF officer after mowing down some terrorists.
