My basic rule for preserving my mental health: Don't watch cable TV news. There is a button on the remote to change the channel or to turn the set off. Problem solved.

My favorite was the Boston Marathon bombing. Shep was trying to do his best "breaking news, newsman spiel" and the dumbazz actually reported "3 dead and at least a dozen decapitations".

That's "fair and balanced".
