I just told another FReeper that if in 90 to 180 days Trump has backed off his pledges and is not implementing good policy I will join his critics on specific points.

OK ... you have a period of performance beginning May 10, 2017 and ending August 8, 2017. I hope you won't get too upset if folks here hold you to it.

“You can hang out on the DJ, WP, and NYT sites and meet with folks just like you. You should be happy there.”

Yeah, like you, I get really perturbed by these guys who go around here with a “perpetual erection” about this or that issue because the new president hasn’t gotten around to it in what, two weeks? They have no idea of the inner workings of the relationship between Trump and the Congress, and perhaps some underlying legal issues that need resolution before taking action. All Trump needs at this juncture is another effing feral judge with his hair on fire about another “legal issue.” At this juncture both Obola and Boosh were still trying to figure out how to go to the bathroom and tie their shoes each morning, and they had ALL their appointees already approved! Sheesh!

On the other hand, the more DACA permits, the more we know about where they are when the roundup starts.

I’d like for the Congress Critters to get that economic package of tax cuts etc. done.

I try to use a test when I post things.

If I can’t live with it, I won’t promise it.

If Trump hasn’t addressed this issue by the ninety day mark, I think he’s due a wake-up call on it.

Yes, I would have preferred it take place on day one. I don’t know why it didn’t. Maybe there’s a good reason. I will wait for a bit, but I do want action on this.

I have been harping on illegal immigration since 1994. Nobody has taken more heat for championing action to stop it cold in it’s track than I have.

The globalists had people here trashing anyone proposing what I was. I wasn’t alone, but there were a number of folks in those days going after people with my view of illegal information.

I was called a racist, a xenophobe, a NAZI...

I tell you this, because I am not going to back Trump doing the wrong thing when it come to illegal immigration.

That being said, I view Trump as the only guy we’ll ever get with the nads to do something about the illegals. Knowing that, I think we’ll get some of what we want and some things will rub us the wrong way. I won’t be happy about it, but I can’t see one person on the horizon who would have addressed it better. So I’ll be sucking it up a little on this. I’ll get a number of things I want, and some things I don’t.

The wall will be in place, and that will stop 90% of it, the continuing problem. That will be very helpful.

I hope to see much more beyond that too. I think Trump will implement policies that will force many of them to repatriate.

His plans for sanctuary cities wouldn’t be needed, if he weren’t going to take measures to rid us of much of this problem.

I am having to wait just like everyone else.

Thanks for the note.

I don’t know what it is. You have folks who are generally pretty solid, and something happens and they just fall over the cliff.

I know they mean well, as they are pushing an important point, but good grief folks.

We will never get a better guy than Trump. If someone thinks anyone would have done better by now, they’re really out in loon central on a magical mystical tour.

I can’t think of one person who would have eclipsed Trump’s action by now. I can’t even think of someone who would have done 25% of what he has by now.

OK, so May 10 it is. That’s 90 days from today.
And if he does it sooner, I’ll jump up and hoist a beer to the Honour of The Donald.

I do think at least getting Sessions approved could possibly be a help.

You’ll be hoisting a lot more beers than that between now and then.

Take care.

Sorry, but he made promises on stuff he could have done on day one, and when it comes to tax cuts, if they don’t get enacted soon they won’t have had time to make a difference for the midterms—putting at risk Trump having even a GOPe house to back him.

I believe that Trump started working on tax cuts within the first 72 hours of holding office.

The tax code is very complex, and I’d defy anyone to make serious heads or tails within 24 hours. I don’t care if you had planned it for months, there’s just steps you have to take to get the job done.

It’s isn’t executive order ground.

He will have to get Congress to join his vision.

If you yourself were in there, you couldn’t do it either to your own satisfaction.

He’s going to do it. This one does take time.

You know, I loved Ronald Reagan. Met with him on several occasions when he was Governor of California. But in terms of getting stuff done, RR would still be in first gear today, whereas Trump left the inauguration in overdrive. In the face of what he’s accomplished and the amount of incoming fire he’s been taking at the same time, I put him in class all by himself in terms of action. He deserves our unqualified support.

Congress wants to stall and there is no excuse for them not having tax cuts or the ACA repeal ready to go—they’ve been talking about and symbolically passing both for years, and they’ve had months now to work out new details with the Trump team.

That’s the issue and risk. But it sounds like Trump has heard us ;-) and is forcing the issue. Hooray!

I loved Ronald Reagan too. Felt like a father figure had died when he passed away. I drove over and viewed his casket to pay my respects at the Reagan Library. I’ve been back more or less just to view his grave. He meant a lot to me.

I view Trump to this point as you do. He will never fully replace Reagan for me, but it is good to have heroes. I think there’s room for two in my life.

When I use that term, I used it in the sense of respect and the desire to learn from them. Reagan was a class act. I liked how he handled himself. I like his attitude. “It can be done!” With Trump he’s different. He’s more brash, but his brashness comes with intent. He uses it like a tool, and it seems to work very well for him.

There’s a coin out there that has a saying on it. It goes something like this. “Sometimes by loosing the battle, you find a new way to win the war.”

I present the battle to defeat Obama from becoming president. We lost it. We found Trump.

Heard us?

LOL, the guy is light-years ahead of us.

Don’t belittle the guy by acting like it took our prodding. He told you it was a top priority and he meant it.

We are twenty days in. It’s going to be okay.

He could even set it up to be retroactive to January 1st, 2017. Hang in there.
