Most of the United States 11.1 million unauthorized immigrants live in just 20 major metropolitan areas, with the largest populations in New York, Los Angeles and Houston, according to new Pew Research Center estimates based on government data.
The analysis shows that the nations unauthorized immigrant population is highly concentrated, more so than the U.S. population overall. In 2014, the 20 metro areas with most unauthorized immigrants were home to 6.8 million of them, or 61% of the estimated nationwide total. By contrast, only 36% of the total U.S. population lived in those metro areas.
But the analysis also shows that unauthorized immigrants tend to live where other immigrants live. Among lawful immigrants including naturalized citizens and noncitizens 65% lived in those top metros.
By far the biggest unauthorized immigrant populations were in the New York and Los Angeles metro areas (1.2 million and 1 million, respectively). No other metro area approached a million. Among the top 20 areas, the smallest unauthorized immigrant populations included Orlando (110,000) and Austin (100,000).

In a word,

That’s the dirty little secret isn’t it.
Bush, Obama...
What’s left to say?
The Amnesty Boat had arrived. Quietly...
I still believe we have upwards of 30 million illegals here.
11 Million. BS - there are probably 6 million in Texas alone.
You got that right. I like 7-11 coffee in the morning, and there's one that's open at 5:00am near me. I have to get there before 5:30, before the parking lot fills up with old beat-up vans and trucks. If I drive near and see them, I keep on going; the illegals have arrived. They'll be 25 of them in there easily, some getting coffee, other getting beer or Red Bull. I'd never get out of the 7-11 in time to get to work.
I'll have to take my chances with Consuelo at the McDonalds, and hope she knows enough English to understand that "large coffee, 5 creamers and 2 Splendas" doesn't mean "Small coffee, cream and sugar" (which is apparently one of the few English phrases she understands). You may laugh, but that's what I get sometimes, and have to call for the manager, who explains it to her in Spanish.
On that chart, with a population of 6,490,180 (as of July, 2010), that’s basically 1 in 10.
I’m thinking it’s more around 1 in 5. And I’m a Houston native (well, Pasadena, where it’s about 1 in 3).
no way only a couple hundred thousand in some of those places. I think there research is flawed.
I stopped reading right at that damnable lie.
Brand them on the cheek, then men on horseback can walk them to the border.
The illegal "coolie" labor exists for three reasons:
1. Welfare
2. Minimum wage
3. Labor regulations
There are certain jobs that economically do not make sense to pay the minimum wage. With welfare, the American has no incentive to work for less than minimum wage. For the employer, there is no incentive to pay minimum wage when an illegal alien will do it for cash. And the employer, many of whom are not Wharton MBAs, don't have to worry about the messy paperwork and costs. The "invisible hand" will not be denied; if that is the economic fair market value of labor, that is what the market will pay.
Eliminate all three and you eliminate most illegals.
We have waaay too many in Atlanta. The ragheads and burka babes are everywhere. Can’t wait til Trump kicks them out.
They buy social security numbers.
Why can’t the government stop that?
It would be nice if the federal government could control the ss numbers. Even Obama’s social security number was questioned.
I know - there is a high level of incompetence.
The government knows when an illegal alien is using someone else’s SS#, but they will not alert the person whose number is being used.
I can remember the press pushing that number in the first term of Jorge Bush’s administration. Yes you are correct!
p
I read, recently, that over half of the babies born in the US are anchor babies....more than actual citizen babies.
This is outrageous.
Dim Dream.
They enter at El Paso and go straight to other big cities, northeast, etc.
El Paso is actually rated one of the safest cities in the country.
It’s been 11 million for 10 or more years now. The real number is likely double or triple that number.
