A Grand Prairie woman who was found guilty on two counts of illegal voting has been sentenced to eight years in prison along with a $5,000 fine on Thursday.
Rosa Maria Ortega was arrested in 2015. She is a legal U.S. resident, but is not a citizen and therefore, not qualified to vote.

Prosecutors say Ortega applied to vote in Tarrant County and acknowledged on the application form that she was not a citizen. The county rejected her application and notified her she was not qualified to vote.
But five months later, she applied again and this time claimed she was a citizen, they said.

And, yes, she’s apparently not illegal. But only a fool would make a blanket statement that no illegals voted. Wasn’t McCain one of the idiots to say that?
Green card holders who are convicted of felonies are supposed to be deported at the end of their prison term.

Oh please, There’s no voter fraud, they said so on CNN.
If someone else systematically recruited and/or facilitated her and probably others, they ought to get a more severe, permanent, and irrevocable penalty.
Trump should lobby the Texas Governor for a pardon for this woman, with the comment “We’re serious.” No more pardons.
it sounds excessive.....why not go after the systematic voting fraud like in Philly?....why not go after nursing home people that fill out ballots for demented or comatose patients?
Geez...we don’t have enough prisons to hold 9 million...guess President Trump will have to get to work on those when he finishes the wall.
Good. This is just the tip of a very big iceberg but this is going to have a big impact on future elections now that it’s know that serious jail time can result by tampering with our election process.
Seize her assets...kick her and her criminal family out of this country for good (after serving her time).

She should have received an additional 5 years for that response.

The article claims that she is here “legally”; however, IF one reads the article at the original place, it is clear that she is an ILLEGAL ALIEN, NOT HERE LEGALLY AT ALL, AND HAS COMMITTED VOTER FRAUD AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND PROBABLLY MORE TIMES THAN THAT!
I missed that part. I’m sure the media is hoping to tie her to voting for President Trump. Wasn’t sure why they would run this story otherwise.
