I must admit this about Michelle: Once they put her in a new wardrobe and taught her something about First Lady style, she dressed and comported herself better than Hillary.
Hillary always wore the same Mao pantsuitexcept for that white rig she wore during the Convention and the debatesand the only thing that changed was its color. She shelved being a lady, except to play the card or a part in her canned photo ops.
Lipstick on a pig.
First ladies don't have to be beautiful, and they don't have any fashion obligations beyond dressing sensibly and appropriately. They should look good. They don't have to look great.
It's not such a high bar. Just don't embarrass the country by wearing some ridiculous getup!
Well, Michelle DID repeatedly embarrass the country with her ridiculous getups. It's not a high bar, but she couldn't get over it.
Maybe she did improve in later years, but it was a long time coming.
