No wonder Eddie Murphy gave up on doing stand-up. Delirious is still one of the funniest standup performances ever, but he couldn’t do half that material today.
Let’s hope that PC won’t kill retro TV - lots of funny non-PC stuff there.
Tremendous. Two funniest clips ever are Tim Conway’s elephant improv on Carol Burnett and Traci Ullman’s show w Steve Martin as the choreographer:
“Barbecue tongs, barbecue tongs, shoot the moon followed by a banana.”
Eddie Murphy stopped doing “blue” humor a long time ago, when he wanted his kids to be able to watch his movies and stuff. Since that was about 90% of his stand-up act, I don’t think he had anything left to put a show together with.
Which is a shame, since Eddie Murphy using profanity is somehow about 10 times funnier than Eddie Murphy not using profanity.
