ICE head cancels meeting with Hispanic Dems

A meeting between congressional Hispanic Democrats and the Trump administration's top immigration enforcement officer was canceled abruptly Tuesday in the wake of national immigration raids that have roiled Latino leaders.

Thomas Homan, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Tuesday that he would not be attending the meeting, according to CHC aides.

CHC Chairwoman Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-N.M.) and Homan had a phone call at 2 p.m. to discuss the cancellation. The CHC is expected to hold a press conference later Tuesday.

Homan's office said it had received too many requests to meet with members of Congress and proposed rescheduling the meeting with a larger, bipartisan group later this week.

CHC staff said a larger meeting was not a reasonable replacement for the canceled sit-down because it would shield Homan from directly facing members who represent the constituency most affected by ICE raids. "It's more of the same from the Trump administration," said an aide.

Hundreds of immigrants have been arrested in ICE raids in at least six states over the past week, in what the administration has called an effort to deport dangerous criminal aliens.

But Hispanic leaders have argued that large-scale raids are not targeted enforcement and unnecessarily round-up undocumented immigrants who are not dangerous criminals.

Reps. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.), Judy Chu (D-Calif.) and Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.) had planned to attend the meeting.

ICE did not immediately return a request for comment.

Madame Dianne Feinstein (age 83) has the same issues, not wanting to let go of being able to command a full Press Conference with a single threatening Tweet.

Race-based “La Raza” was given tax dollars and Congressionsl earmarks to finance its so-valled mortgage activities. La Raza’s “strategic partnerships” with Wachovia and Bank of America forced the fraudulent mortgage-application requirements and documentation standards.......which caused taxpayers to be socked w/ billions in bailouts......decimating the US economy. economy.

La Raza aided and abetted risky federal and private-home loans to latinos over the last decade. thanks to the lending industry’s version of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

In addition to millions of federal tax dollars, La Raza also collected a $1 million Democratic earmark that funded “community-development” projects. Analysts report that much of it went to “mortgage counseling.”

If the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is found to be encouraging Hispanics citizens to break the laws of our country, then prosecutions might be in order.

Interesting that Cong Luis Gutierrez (DENOCRAT-Ill)...a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus....requests meeting with ICE officials after Trump ordered US las be enforced.

La Raza Luis's been drowning his sorrows over the Trump win in tequila shots.

At the La Raza conference in Cali (predated 2014 midterms)---Cong Luis Gutierrez (Dimwit-Ill) vengefully threatened Republicans---intimating hate-filled latinos would make sure they never win another presidency.

La Raza President, and chief America hater, Janet Murguia, told attendees that it sickened her to hear Americans chanting "USA." She accused Murietta, Cali protesters against border-jumpers of having "cloaked their hatred in patriotism" by shouting "'USA! USA!' again and again."

It made me angry," the La Razan said. "In fact, I was outraged."

Murguia demanded amnesty and said the road to the White House for Republicans goes through the Latino community and La Raza. She also said Republicans who want to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will not get Hispanic votes.

Going into 2014 midterms, taking cues from their Central American handlers, organized latino pressure groups were heaping scorn upon those opposed to amnesty--- assorted latino pressure groups threatened Republicans with extinction, they rallied around Democrats---saying "the latino vote was going to destroy Republicans."

Undecided races at time of publication also went Republican.

2014 was a tsunami that submerged AMNESTY-SUCKING DEMOCRATS in waves of defeat. Democrats who ran on amnesty were soundly defeated.

Fox's Britt Hume said the latino vote was not even a factor. Republicans won historic one-for-the-books elections---from sea to shining sea.

He should invite them to a meeting where he limits any theatrics.
