This whole story is beyond bizarre.
1. The Trump administration makes the job offer public to someone without first getting private assurance that he will take the job?
2. Trump doesn’t personally interview him for such a sensitive job?
3. The guy that is offered the job publicly disses Trump as bad as any democrat hack?
You’ve got to be kidding me!
Maybe it’s the “art of the deal”, or make him an offer “he can’t refuse”. Take your pick... lol
