Journalism students have long had a reputation of wanting to become journalist not because of a love for telling the truth or investigation or writing but because they wanted to make the world a better place ... and a better place was seemingly invariably a more progressive one.

This has been a slow motion train wreck with warning signs that the wheels were coming off at least as early a Cronkite announcing defeat in Vietnam.

You hit the nail on the head!

People who go into journalism tend to be liberal to start with, and tend to be on a crusade. They want to change the world.

In short, they are best described as “advocacy” journalists, because they aren’t content to report the news. They want to slant the news, to convince us that we should be liberal.

Just think about news reporting in recent years on various subjects.

They reported stories on alleged hardships faced by a homosexual because we didn’t allow homosexual marriage.

They lamented how tens of millions didn’t have health insurance, so there was an urgency to pass Obamacare.

They reported hardships faced by illegal aliens facing deportation or other consequences from their illegal acts.

They report dubious “science” to convince us that global warming is going to kill us all.

They magnify rare police shootings to try to convince us that all cops are racist, and make us think that innocent young black men are being used for target practice by police.

I’m sure there are many other examples, but you get the point. When they report on these stories, it’s always from a liberal point of view.

Journalist students want to be stars like under Nixon. They do not care about the truth or helping, they want glitter and most of them are incompetent writers. As a result they plagiarize from documents offered to them by lobbies and foreign spies, acting as if they were the writers of this crap, just like the Caliphs in the time of Mohammed did to create the hadiths amending the Koran.

At Indiana University, the School of Journalism is located in Pyle Hall. I’ll bet not one in five students know why it bears that name.
