My husband and I ONLY have FlipPhones, and we are paying for these lazyasses to have IPHONES??? OMG!!
They need to investigate all the phony people on “disability” & all those grannies getting paid to watch their own grandkids. A lot of phonies & frauds in those programs. Judge Judy should be made Czar of welfare fraud!

Shutdown this one program and then ten year savings pays for the $15B wall.
This makes a lot of sense — phones are a necessary part of our society to receive calls for job interviews and in the case of emergencies, especially since pay phones have all but vanished. It was supposed to be a great boost up for people who are out of work, not a permanent free phone.

Pre-paid phones are pretty cheap these days. This program is no longer needed. If it ever was.

When I was a child I helped out with the handing out of, yes, government cheese, dried beans, rice, etc. Those sort of staples ought to be what is provided to the poor. That seems so simple and obvious to me.

Obama was following Cloward-Piven, using every means possible by the government to rack up that cripping $20 Trillion national debt and the massive associated servicing costs that would result from any reasonable prime interest rate.
All of the massive free handouts were by design to maximize debt. None of it was “mishandled”, or “abused” per se. It was all by design. Obama wanted slackers to live high on the hog and consume as much tax money as physically possible.

I remember those programs. Typically, the turnout in inner cities was better to vote than to collect free cheese and rice. The neighbors doing the distributing also knew the people who were trying to collect double and told them to beat it. Not anymore.
