I was forced on to our Obamacare state exchange here in NY. for my family, we basically have to spend $21,000 in premiums and deductibles before anything at all is covered.
My neighbor, who works for the local public university, and works about 175 days per year, and has every penny covered - including plastic surgery.
Besides the elimination of Obamacare, there MUST be an allowance and support for the development of CASH medical payments. Let every medical establishment establishment and doctor develop direct CASH payments from patients directly, with prices negotiated only between provider and patient. There MUST be an alternative to 3rd party payers ruling the entire system.
Exactly! It’s largely the intrusion of third parties that has F’ed up the system*, and even that was due to government poking their nose in stuff they knew nothing about. To be fair, I realize it’s probably very difficult for them to find a topic where that doesn’t apply, but too bad, mind your own business.
*And it’s not the “free market” that hosed things, except as an attempted workaround for goobermint meddling. Except for HOA’s and insurers, who thinks that acting like a totalitarian government and treating their CUSTOMERS like subjects is a viable business plan. Compare the cost and quality trends in medical services people pay for out of pocket with those insurance (private or government) pays for.
That is terrifying, and would bankrupt most people. Nancy Pelosi said ObamaCare would free people from being tied to their employers for health insurance, and the exact opposite happened; if one loses his/her job, even if they have accumulated some savings, they must get a job as quickly as possible (no matter how crappy) just for protection from ObamaCare requirements. Without it, that accumulated savings would quickly be consumed.
Our elites have enslaved us further with this new tax.
The disparity between the standard of living in academia and us little people couldn’t be more glaring; here in NJ they are our new upper middle class (since many decent jobs left) - supported on the backs of private-sector workers.
Easy solution. Those wanting free healthcare either need to make it known you are a refugee—and demand it.
Or commit a crime of sufficient nature to get yourself jailed. What is the problem?
