There has been powerful push from the hard-left of the Democratic Party, led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), to elect Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) chairman. If he is elected, I will quit the party after 60 years of loyal association and voting. I will become an independent, continuing to vote for the best candidates, most of whom, I assume, will still be Democrats. But I will not contribute to the DNC or support it as an institution.
My loyalty to my country and my principles and my heritage exceeds any loyalty to my party. I will urge other like-minded people — centrist liberals — to follow my lead and quit the Democratic Party if Ellison is elected chairman.

One would think that having Ellison as DNC head would motivate most Jews to quit, but I suspect not all. Some cannot be convinced that the democrat party of today has changed dramatically from what it was 30 even 10 years ago. The Dem party is no longer constructed or operated with the best interests of every American. It has become the party of special interests, supported by a Grab Bag of flexible causes and priorities.
Perez just received 213.5 votes to Ellison’s 200 with 214.5 votes needed to win. Ms. “white people need to shut up” Brown is dropping out now with no endorsement.

Half of Democrat Black Pastors of Black churches support unity with Muslims.
Half of Democrat Black Pastors and their congregations are quite anti-Muslim and totally committed to Christianity.
It is not a given that this latter half of Black Democrats will stay with Ellison for the long term. The first half of Black Pastors intimidated the second half into supporting “Christian” Obama. But the bloom of “first Black President” is off the rose. There is no “Black first” left to top that one.
Where half the Black Democrat pastors and their congregations go is yet to be determined. This half of Black congregations has many ex-military who often think from that perspective in their relations with whites.
“These people will never be in power again.” I do hope that’s correct, but all of politics is way too strange to be certain about anything. I’m, still, waiting for the rest of the world to, finally, get out from their ALWAYS LEFTIST POLITICS funk!

I always kind of liked Dershowitz, even though he is mostly a left-winger. Glad to see he’s taking a principled stand here.
I do feel that the potential demise of the Democrats is exaggerated. There is always some token stupidity on the GOP side.
