George W. Bush won't agree with Trump's view of reporters as 'the enemy'...(TRUNC)

Former U.S. president George W. Bush said Monday that a free press was 'indispensable to democracy' during his two White House terms – hinting that he disagrees with President Donald Trump's assessment of some reporters as 'the enemy of the people.'

'We need an independent media to hold people like me to account,' Bush said on the 'Today' show.

'I think power can be very addictive, and it can be corrosive, and it's important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power, whether it be here or elsewhere.'

This man is no wizard. The only reason that he ever became president is because it was either him or Gore in 2000 and him or Kerry in 2004. Best of two bad choices in both cases.

GW Bush was quiet when Obama was president. Now he speaks up against Trump.

GW is an ass.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. Georgie said NOTHING for 8 years...and now we have GOP President and he’s talking. The GLOBALISTS must be really pissed. Georgie just confirmed he’s one of them.

Now he talks? My hatred of Bush grows as time passes and he reveals what a tool he always was.

"[The new President] deserves my silence. There's plenty of critics in the arena. I think it's time for the ex-president to tap dance off the stage and let the current president have a go at solving the world's problems."

Not much of a defender. The American way is the way of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions: When attacked, ATTACK.
That’s what Trump is doing and that is how he won. This “Let’s work with Democrats” crap does not work anymore. Today’s Democrats are not the party of Sam Nunn, or Jack Brinkley. There is no compromise with Marxists. To think I used to get paid $125 per month for shooting the bastards!

Not an enemy? Maybe not in his mind; very noble of him — or not. Anyway, the press took his dumb ass down, and wrote him into history as a dumb dipstick. So, whatever, Dubya.

The media treated W unfairly. A normal person would hate them.

I guess he was a willing whipping-boy.

Right you are! If Republicans fought Democrats one half as vehemently as they do other Republicans, we would have won both of those Obama elections. McCain and the Bushes. Jesus!

When you think back to the Bush dynasty and how we got those dolts, it truly is amazing how well the manipulation works, on both the left and the right. In Bush Jr's case, here is a guy who was not too bright but whose father was a congressman and grandfather was a Senator, so he gets into good schools for college. He gets B's and C's. Goes into the reserve, no distinction. Once out, he doesn't do anything to demonstrate competence. Doesn't run anything, doesn't help his dad when his dad is President. He's the son of a powerful man, well off, not accomplished, and a drunk. Nearly loses his family.

Then he cleans himself up and decides it's time for him to put all the past aside and begin building a resume. So Daddy's connections get him a job with the Texas Rangers, where he does nothing extraordinary. After a few years there, he runs for Governor of Texas. Nothing in his background provided any basis for him to think he should be governor of Texas, except his last name! Now, for the first time in his life, he does something showing merit. He defeats the crazy woman and wins, going on to do a decent job as governor. He is known mainly for getting along with democrats during that time.

With the resume sufficiently beefed up, now he thinks he can be President. He's still the same mediocre bum he always was, but he is sold to conservatives as a true conservative, better than his father. After the Dole debacle, and faced with a choice of McCain or Bush, people fall for it. It was always a lie.

He was always just a creation of his father, who was orchestrating the globalization, stateless agenda. He didn't care about the media, because he was accomplishing what that agenda. His low approval was OK because it gave him cover for not doing anything conservative.

His refusal to criticize Obama fits perfectly, because he didn't disagree with the ends, only perhaps the speed of getting there. He will now find his voice. He is worse than Obama, for he was used to dupe conservatives, to be a placeholder until enough of us die off for them to finish the project of de-Americanizing this land. Without Bush to mollify us, the left could never win. He played his role, but he was never on our side.

The Bush family was always part of the globalist uniparty. GHWB was chosen solely to get liberals on board in the Reagan revolution. Barbara Bush is the closest thing to a poster child for the limousine liberal as one could imagine. W has proven himself to be a dud. Jeb is a traitor. The whole bunch of them need to just go away.
