Forget it - I’m grabbing a whopper and large fries on the way home.

True story...my 89 year old great uncle was having a heart attack, so he was transported to the hospital. He called and asked me to come to the hospital, so I raced down. He wanted out of the hospital, the doctor said if you leave now, you won't be alive tomorrow. I tried to persuade him to stay, but he checked himself out against medical advice

. While I was taking him back to his apartment, he asked if we could make a stop...you guessed it, he wanted to pull through McDonalds and get a Big Mac, fries, and a milkshake...so we did. He was alive the next morning, and for many mornings after that, he passed away when he was 96.

Comfort food does more than fill the belly, it also lifts your spirit. Good memories you can feel, smell and taste.
