GWB may have methods to stay calm and functional, painting ,writing books and giving ‘uplifting’ speeches being some of the ways meant to rebuild his ego.
I don’t know how I would survive it myself, being battered in the press every single day, no matter what you do or don’t do. I really think W. is simply burnt out and doesn’t have the stomach anymore for direct confrontation, unless, of course the confrontation is to someone within his own party.
