I would not be shocked if a parallel investigation is also being conducted completely outside of the government -- by a prominent security firm specializing in corporate espionage, cyber-security, and other serious matters that corporate clients deal with all the time.

Exactly! Rudy has connections. (and also I would think the local offices of the F B I are still investigating what they were investigating before the election.
