Not just phones, cameras on laptops as well.
Which is why I have TAPE over every orifice on my tablet and cell phone.
Yeah, I’ve heard our phones supposedly have this capability. Disconcerting!
Only way to prevent it is to pull the battery when not using the device.
The above article is very informative.
Snippet: “For example, just consider what they did to former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson. In her recent book, she details a campaign of digital harassment that sounds like something out of a spy novel. The following comes from the Washington Post
The breaches on Attkissons computer, says this source, are coming from a sophisticated entity that used commercial, nonattributable spyware thats proprietary to a government agency: either the CIA, FBI, the Defense Intelligence Agency, or the National Security Agency (NSA). Attkisson learns from Number One that one intrusion was launched from the WiFi at a Ritz Carlton Hotel and the intruders discovered my Skype account handle, stole the password, activated the audio, and made heavy use of it, presumably as a listening tool.
To round out the revelations of Number One, he informs Attkisson that hed found three classified documents deep inside her operating system, such that shed never know they were even there. Why? To frame me? Attkisson asks in the book.
If they can do all of that to Sharyl Attkisson, they can do it to Donald Trump too.
This new digital information age has made is a heck of a lot easier for people to spy on others. ALL of our communication leaves the privacy of our home and businesses and ends up on some network somewhere. Our credit card transactions are logged, EVERYTHING!
Anyone who doesn't realize this is a fool. A point: I like to troll Facebook but don't have an active account. I DON'T EVER post any personal information including my birthdate which I lied about because of security concerns.
Unfortunately, we are all tied to the technology and so even my cellphone is “unsecured.” It is a balance, I guess. But knowing is better than not knowing.
President Trump should have a cell-phone like mine...which is old enough for the Antique Road Show.....no bells or whistles...don’t think could be turned into a peek show etc.
What about jamming devices? Can you put your phone/laptop in a soundproof case? I heard even a computer-controlled thermostat can be used to hack a computer.
Smart TV. Can be easily switch on by hackers.
Don’t forget your microwave and other kitchen appliances.
Idiots who buy a phone without a removable battery are inviting this.
It’s like smoking three packs of Marlborough every day and then wailing when you get lung cancer.
sounds like it’s time to go to the Paulie Cicero communication method.
