President Trump is praising the Republican-proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act, former President Barack Obamas signature health care law better known as Obamacare.
Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation, Trump tweeted early Tuesday. ObamaCare is a complete and total disaster is imploding fast!
The bill, released by House Republicans on Monday night, repeals Obamacares individual mandate and most of the taxes the law imposed. But the plan, dubbed the American Health Care Act, retains two popular features of the ACA: one requiring insurance companies to insure people with preexisting conditions, and another allowing young adults to remain on their parents insurance plans until they are 26 years old.

No buying insurance over state lines, SHOCKING!!
NeverTrump are just our version of SJWs, with all of the usual inability to read before reacting.
With the exception of the 2012 Presidential election, the GOP has been given a mandate to repeal with every election since 2010. They sent multiple “repeal” bills up when they knew they wouldn’t be signed. Now that we have given them the full reins and a repeal can be signed, we don’t get repeal, we get ACA tweaks.
Get it?
“Really? If thats all he is doing,”
He said it was the start of negotiations.
That’s why you dont read chopped-up parts of his tweets.
Can anyone make sense of this comment from Denninger on the Ticker Forum:
“It does not repeal the “penalty.” It instead moves it to the back end; if you don’t have insurance (by choice) and then buy it, you get hammered with a 30% penalty for a year. For most people that’s far more than the ACA penalty for not having insurance — it could easily be $3,000 or more! This is outright fraud on the part of the GOP which said it was repealing the penalty.”
He tends to be unable to write clearly, but sometimes he is fairly insightful (although, he is often not), but I am really concerned that this whole repeal of the penalty is just a ruse.
Is he just saying that the penalty remains, but only for the subset of non-insured who buy insurance later in that calendar year? In which case, the penalty is truly gone for those that don’t have insurance for the whole year?
In which case, he would appear to partially right: the penalty remains, but it just won’t be as widely applied. Is that correct?
As Trump stated: “out for review and negotiation”. This turd is not going to be the law that is voted on.
The EXEMPT have adopted ROMNEYCARE, because
the GOP thought of it FIRST.
The government should have NOTHING to do with
healthcare.
Wrong. It moves who you pay the penalty to, if you drop coverage for any amount of time when you buy it again, you will pay 30% more. The insurance companies collect instead of the IRS.
A: One piece at a time
Q: When the Republican House and Senate passed the bill that repealed Obamacare and then made a big hairy deal of sending it up to Obama were they just being a bunch of cynical opportunistic bastards who didn't give a damn about keeping their promises?
A: Uh.... Yeah!
They don’t even have the repeal down. Get it?
Your opening bill should be more than what you want so you have negotiating room.
Starting with a bad bill doesn’t give much room for success.
I read the Bill, and if Trump likes it, I don’t like that at all.
“’Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation,’ Trump tweeted early Tuesday.”
Someone needs to give him a bullet point synopsis of what a turkey this RyanCare bill really is. We can only hope the scales will fall from his eyes when he finds out what is in it.
Of course, what that means is that for those who truly drop out of the system, there is no penalty. But this is very disingenuous, in any case. Going from a penalty, to a less-widely applied penalty, is still a penalty.
Do you happen to know this: would that penalty apply if you had some kind of catastrophic insurance, and then switched to “regular” insurance (I was about to say ACA-compliant, but stopped myself ...)?
Make sure to stamp your feet, call for impeachment and promise to never vote for him again.
(rolls eyes)
This is the turd that Ryan and Tom Price were working on. It was released for review because house conservatives and a few senators were demanding it be public. Good on them. Plenty of time to make it right. The blowback from conservatives will be swift and loud.
It’s outlined in this article. Scroll down for details.
Bullshite. Did you miss the word “negotiation”, in Trump’s comment?
Some folks are so dang quick to assume the worst for no good reason when it involved President Trump.
From what I understand that is what they are talking about, 30% more premium if you drop “regular” insurance for any reason.
