Trump embraces GOP Obamacare replacement: ‘Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill’

President Trump is praising the Republican-proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act, former President Barack Obama’s signature health care law better known as Obamacare.

“Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation,” Trump tweeted early Tuesday. “ObamaCare is a complete and total disaster – is imploding fast!”

The bill, released by House Republicans on Monday night, repeals Obamacare’s individual mandate and most of the taxes the law imposed. But the plan, dubbed the “American Health Care Act,” retains two popular features of the ACA: one requiring insurance companies to insure people with preexisting conditions, and another allowing young adults to remain on their parents’ insurance plans until they are 26 years old.

They need to go back to the drawing board. Most of it doesn’t even kick in til 2020. What a joke.

I’m hoping Trump hasn’t read it. If so, we’ve been played.

There is already a lot of hemming and hawing about this from other GOP. It’s not all that different from ObamaCare.
The good news at this point is the Mandate is GONE!
Yay! Trump did say this bill has been introduced, and is now ready for negotiations. So other features may change in the near future.
I think Trump wants to get past the replacement of O-Care so that he can move on to tax reform. Fine with me, if so.

Absolutely. They need to make it clear that congressmen, senators, their staff, White House staff, all of them, will be insured through this system. Only military and maybe the president himself should be on their own system.

The bill is flawed, but it will be open for debate this time and it is better than Obamacare. HSAs and no penalties.

How can insurance companies stay solvent if they must insure preexisting conditions but there is no individual or business mandate? It will accelerate the death spiral exponentially. Those who are self employed and must pay for their own insurance are SOL.

Trump was elected on the basis of repeal and REPLACE. Not “no national healthcare”.

Get it?

Young adults stay on Mom and Dad’s...ok...that can’t be all that onerous.

Preexisting conditions: that too is not all that onerous since most people the vast majority of people are enrolled with no questions when they sign up at a new employer. Least thats how it was explained to me. The preexisting conditions clause while true for some was really an overhyped fear.

STILL: if I had a group policy with BCBS at one employer and was treated for diabetes there, my switching to another employer with BCBS should not mean I have to wait for 2 years for them to cover the same malady.

And yes: if its good enough for us it should be damn good for them.

It is BS. Trump’s happy tweet is being edited in many places, and being passed around that way, in order for the RINO contingency of NeverTrumpers divide, us by bitching about what is only a first draft that is online for the world to critique.

TRUMP said in the tweet that finally something is up for “review and negotiation”. The thing is going to be changed, and voted on and marked up and then sent to the Senate to do the same— make their changes, meet with the House, eventually agree and then they will ALL vote on it.

Trump is not a part of the play by play on the content. He may like the final product, or he may not.

Chances are it is months off for anything to become law.

President Trump is praising the Republican-proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act, >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Really? If thats all he is doing, he is failing his promise to America. Where is lifting the insurance marketing restrictions
by state lines? Where is the pharmaceutical bidding process to lower medications?

This is a sell out to lobbyists.

And if not changed, will be the end of Donald Trump’s hope for a functional presidency.

“Get rid of this egregious law in increments”

Or more generally, make changes in increments.
